ICON receives UBC Collaborative Research Mobility Award with Dr. Qian Chen at UBC-Okanagan

The grant aims to strengthen the collaboration between ICon lab and the Construction Integration and Digitalization lab (led by Dr. Chen at UBC-O).

Lei and Weijia win Best Student Paper of the General Conference at CSCE 2022

The two won best student paper at the Canadian Society of Civil Engineering (CSCE) annual conference held in Whitsler, BC in May, 2022. Their paper is titled “Virtual Reality-Based Expert Demonstrations for Training Construction Robots via Imitation Learning”.

Lei receives the J.K. Zee Memorial Fellowship for 2022

The award is offered to one graduate student in Computer Engineering or Civil Engineering (Construction Management) every year.

ICON receives NSERC Alliance Mission Grant to build tall timber modular buildings

ICON collaborates with Dr. Tony Yang (UBC Civil) and Dr. Cristiano Loss (UBC Forestry) to design and build tall timber buildings using robots.

ICON receives NSERC Discovery Grant to optimize indoor environments for building occupants

ICON works on quantifying the impact of indoor environment quality factors on human experience indoors.

Weijia receives UBC CIV-Ex award
